The Team:  RTRL is a library service made up of four regional councils with Lismore City Council being the executive council that oversee and administer the Libraries in the local Government areas of Tweed, Byron Bay, Ballina and Lismore. We are a multi skilled team who want to help our community expand their mind, broaden their horizons and learn new things. You will:

  • Assist in maintaining and providing access to library collections in the mobile library to meet patron needs and organisational priorities
  • Communicate effectively with library patrons to meet their information needs
  • Assist in processing, sorting, filing and handling library materials
  • Participate in process and service improvement projects in the team
  • Use automated information systems, databases and other technology for a range of processing and service tasks to ensure service and business targets are met

Please note:  An HC Drivers License is a requirement of this role. 

Conditions of Employment: Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements 

Pre-employment Screening: There will be a series of pre-employment checks including health assessments (includes Confidential Medical Statement) and receipt of copies of relevant qualifications and reference checks. We will also require a criminal history check.

Working with Children Check

In accordance with the requirement for ‘Working with Children' anyone starting a new, paid job in child-related work must apply for the Working With Children Check (WWCC). This is a requirement for this position and it is the responsibility of the successful applicant to have undertaken the WWCC and the ‘Clearance to Work with Children’ provided to Council prior to commencement.
