The Manager of Waste Operations is responsible for the management and delivery of all operational aspects of Lismore City Council's Waste and Resource Recovery services.  This is a permanent role, that will ensure the safe and effective delivery of Operational Plan outcomes for the Lismore Recycling and Recovery Centre, Nimbin Transfer Station, and other associated locations and services in the Lismore Local Government Area.
You'll be working in a full time 35 hour per week role, that will primarily be based at our Wyrallah Road Council Works Depot.

What we trust you to deliver 
  • Lead the team to achieve excellence through service delivery benchmarks and commitment to the implementation of continued improvement processes
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in strategic development processes within Council and partner with other LGA's and industry 
  • Lead operational requirements in safety, environmental, quality and compliance performance outcomes
  • A high level of financial management skills and experience to prepare, analyse and manage large budgets
  • Ensure projects and resourcing plans are aligned to accountabilities and responsibilities 
What you'll need to be successful
  • Relevant Bachelors Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering - a lesser qualification may be suitable with substantial industry experience
  • Proven success in developing and implementing strategy and innovation, translating into outcomes and business success
  • Strong personal drive and high level of self motivation
  • High level leadership and engagement skills
  • Excellent risk assessment and control capability
  • Embody Council's values and demonstrate strong commitment to organisational goals
