EOI Events Support Officer - NAIDOC Celebrations

Internal expressions of interest are being sought for persons interested in a ten (10) day opportunity in the position of Events Officer – NAIDOC Day Celebrations.  The successful candidate will be seconded to work with the Events team to assist in organising the 2024 NAIDOC celebration day to be held on Thursday 4th July.

The term will be a maximum of 10 days with the following dates

Monday 3 June

Tuesday 11 June

Monday 17 June 

Monday 24 June

Monday 1 July - Friday 5 July

Monday 8 July being the last day to finalise all matters.

This initiative aligns closely with the philosophy of developing our own people and a starting point is encouraging staff to take this role to further develop their experience and opportunities within the business.

What we trust you to deliver 

  • The position will assist various stakeholders to provide a community event for the Aboriginal community to come together to celebrate their culture and to showcase their heritage
  • Managing records for all activities for the community day
  • Support the Events Officer with input into how the event should be organised

Responsibilities of this position 

  • Liaising with the Aboriginal Advisory Group & other community for the event
  • Inviting schools’ groups to perform
  • Overseeing and liaising with all stallholders from the Lismore Business Community
  • Liaising with all food contractors
  • Sourcing all entertainers and finalising the program for the day
  • Customer interaction with our external and internal customers
  • Actively support Workplace Health and Safety Risk Assessment Hazard Prevention

Hourly rate starts from $34.88 an hour + superannuation

10 Day Secondment commencing Monday 3 June and ending Monday 8 July with the above dates
