Lismore City Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Capital Works Engineer to join our Roads Construction team. In this pivotal role, you will support the Manager of Roads Construction in the efficient, safe, and effective delivery of capital works projects, including roads, pedestrian access, stormwater, wastewater, and water infrastructure. This position is instrumental in enhancing the livability and sustainability of our community by leading the planning, execution, and supervision of critical infrastructure projects.
You'll be working in a permanent full time, 70 hour per fortnight role, primarily based at our Wyrallah Road Depot.

What we trust you to deliver

Planning and executing all aspects of Infrastructure Capital projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices

Providing detailed financial and progress reports for Infrastructure Capital projects, maintaining rigorous financial oversight.

Supervising contracted works packages, from tender preparation to contract administration, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.

Leading continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency in our processes.

Fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and high performance within the team and with stakeholders
What you'll need to be successful

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with extensive experience in road & drainage construction, timber bridge construction and maintenance, and water & wastewater capital works.

Demonstrated ability in the supervision of contractors and excellent verbal and written communication skills

High level of proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Ability to work collaboratively in a team, exhibit leadership and mentorship skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
