We are currently seeking a proactive and efficient Coordinator Business Administration to join our dedicated Shared Services Team within the Chief Operating Office. This role is permanent full time working 35 hours a week and will be primarily based at our Corporate Centre in Goonellabah.
About the role
The Coordinator Business Administration holds a crucial position overseeing administrative processes, projects, and support services for the Chief Operating Office.  Reporting to the Head of Shared Services, they lead a team, ensuring smooth daily operations and contributing to corporate goals. The role demands strong organisational skills, effective communication, and collaboration abilities to streamline procedures and enhance productivity.

  • This role involves leading a team through administrative process and technology changes, managing tight deadlines in a fast paced environment, fostering relationships with stakeholders, optimising resource allocation despite budget constraints, and staying proactive in adapting to organisational needs and industry standards. 
  • Exhibit strong communication skills to inspire confidence in both team members and audiences. Offer clear and concise information and provide tools for staff development, such as FAQs and regular meetings. Prepare detailed reports, proposals and submissions for senior leadership and Council. Utilise advanced conflict resolution and negotiation abilities. Apply influencing skills to lead and motivate the team through change, demonstrating accountability, collaboration and constructive behaviour.  
  • Identify training needs and offer development opportunities for team members, integrating technological advancements to improve administrative processes, implementing quality assurance measures to maintain high standards and minimise errors, and ensuring thorough documentation of all Council business in accordance with standards and procedures.
What you'll need to be successful
  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and solve problems, making informed decisions under pressure
