We have an exciting opportunity, due to continued growth in our Parks and Open team, for a Cemetery Maintenance Operator to join us. This position provides key support to the Coordinator Lismore Memorial Gardens and Team Leader in the operation and maintenance of the Cemeteries and Crematorium facilities of Lismore City Council. This is a permanent full time role, working 76 hours per fortnight, primarily based at Lismore Memorial Garden.

What we trust you to deliver

The undertaking of burial works in all cemeteries.

Excavation of graves (mechanised or manual excavation) and operation of the crematorium.

Maintenance of the landscape, assets and facilities of Lismore Memorial Gardens.

The laying, servicing and maintaining of memorial structures and assets.

Participation in natural area revegetation and weed management works.

Communicate proactively and respectfully, and work cooperatively with other team members and staff.
What you'll need to be successful

A relevant Certificate II accreditation or equivalent, together with relevant work experience.

Current Class LR Driver’s Licence.

Backhoe Certificate of Competency.

WorkCover Construction Induction Card and Chemcert Accreditation.

A formal qualification or willingness to undertake training in natural area restoration, bushland regeneration or weed management shall be highly regarded.
