Our Flood Restoration Portfolio (FRP) is the principal delivery agency for restoring Councils’ and Community assets. Over the coming months, the team will grow exponentially, offering exciting opportunities for personal and professional development as we deliver many rebuild and transformation projects for our community.

Some of the key activities include responsibility and oversight of:
  • Design and develop communication, engagement, and brand strategy for all internal and external communications.

  • Work with leaders to develop and implement communication initiatives, ensuring alignment across work streams with Council, Portfolio goals and stakeholder needs in mind.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust approaches as needed to maximise impact.

  • Provide guidance and support to leaders and employees on best practices for communication.

  • Facilitate feedback mechanisms to gauge stakeholder sentiment and address concerns proactively.

  • Ensure consistency and clarity in messaging across all channels and touchpoints.

  • Ensure the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality customer service.

  • Ensure systems and processes are in place that support efficient and effective internal and external customer service delivery.

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead team members to focus on customer service and experience excellence. 

About you
  • To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about driving positive brand and stakeholder engagement, hold relevant tertiary qualifications, and have proven success in a similar senior leadership role.

  • You will be contemporary and dynamic in your approach, able to influence, build, and maintain trust-based solid stakeholder relationships. Your success will affirm your ability to lead and empower complex teams, drawing upon your high-level focus and business acumen.

  • ​Excellent communication skills, the ability to write clearly and edit accurately to publish quality, easily understood information for internal and external audiences, and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences in plain English.

  • ​A demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and work co-operatively with people at all levels to achieve outcomes, including construction environments.

  • Experience managing contracts, external agencies, and suppliers and strong organisational skills are essential for the team's success. 

  • ​Experience managing people.

  • ​Experience managing challenging stakeholders and issues management.

  • This position is a full-time, term-based appointment until 31 December 2026

  • This is an annualised salary rate + superannuation. 

  • The position will be based primarily at our Flood Portfolio Office in Lismore. Flexible work options are available, working within operational requirements.
