Due to continued growth in the team, we have an exciting opportunity for a Collections Driver to join our Waste Operations team. You will be responsible for the safe operation of Collection vehicles including light and heavy vehicles, hook trucks, rear loader trucks, side arm loader trucks, body trucks, among other vehicles to achieve Council's Collections scheduling.
You'll be working in a full time 38 hour per week role, that will primarily be based at our Resource Recovery Depot, Wyrallah Road, East Lismore.

What we trust you to deliver

Undertake duties associated with the safe operation of vehicles, including truck/plant/machine pre-start checks, contamination records, cleaning and minor routine maintenance

Responsibility and accountability for performing all functions or duties required of the role with a high level of autonomy, often working with remote supervision and only periodic direct supervision

Maintain effective communication and relationships with relevant stakeholders to foster a team based culture
-
Collection of necessary data (including the use of electronic systems) to record collections activities and inform continuous improvement outcomes for safety, efficiency and customer service levels

Comply with regulatory requirements of all workplaces, including on public roads

Carry out other duties for the Waste Facility as directed
What you'll need to be successful

General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
-
Current HR Class Drivers Licence
-
Have a genuine customer service focus

Capable of occasional manual handling and general labouring duties

Basic digital literacy skills

Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills
-
Flexible and agile to work across different vehicles, roles and/or rosters as directed
