About this Position:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Supervisor to join our Roads department. The Field Supervisor is a key member of the Roads and Quarry Section within the Chief Operating Office. The primary function of the Field Supervisor is to independently lead teams in road construction, maintenance, and quarry operations, while also providing crucial support to the Works Coordinator when required. This role is critical in building and maintaining the infrastructure that connects communities.

What we trust you to deliver:

  • Lead multiple teams in road construction and maintenance, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and timeliness.
  • Strategically manage and allocate resources to optimise team efficiency and productivity while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Oversee contractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
  • Drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement, implementing and monitoring quality control practices.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication and collaborative problem-solving.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Certificate IV in Civil Construction or Frontline Management and/or relevant experience.
  • Essential qualifications including licences, certifications and tickets
  • Proven leadership experience in civil construction, with expertise in road maintenance and supervising contractors.
  • Advanced skills in resource allocation, problem-solving, and quality assurance in high-risk work environments.

Full Time: 76 hours per fortnight 

Salary: From $79,287 + superannuation
