About this Position:

As a Work Health and Safety Administration Officer, you'll have the opportunity to support the WHS function in administering, monitoring and reporting on the day-to-day usage of WHS systems, to promote and support a culture of safety and quality improvement across the organisation resulting in positive health and safety outcomes for the workplace.

What we trust you to deliver:

Provide accurate and detailed administrative support to the Safety Team and the WHS Safety Committee
-
Triage events reported through Council's event reporting system providing timely review and response
- Contribute to the implementation of and continuously improve Council's Safety Management System to ensure compliance with legislative and quality standards

Assist in the development and formatting of high-quality documents, presentation material, training material, and internal and external reports in support of operational stakeholders

Monitor and report operational stakeholders in their preparation and completion of WHS key performance indicators
- Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures, programs, processes, education, and tools to support Council to be a leader in Health and Safety
What you will need to be successful:

Experience in WHS systems and administration

WorkCover Construction Induction Card (White Card) or willingness to obtain

Current Class C Drivers Licence
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to initiate, build and maintain strong and effective partnerships across all organisational levels.

Full Time: 70 hours a fortnight
Salary: From $1,212.00 (Grade 8 Entry) per week + superannuation

Conditions of Employment: Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.

Immunisation Program
Council has an immunisation program to provide employees with vaccinations against known health risks associated with their respective duties and to identify any exposure to products that may affect an employee’s health, fitness and wellbeing. This position has been identified as a risk to the employee and as such the successful applicant/s will be required to participate in the immunisation program and it is the applicant’s responsibility to have undertaken relevant immunisation/s prior to commencement with Council.
