About the position: 

The Operations Manager is a key member of Council's Liveable and Active Communities program area. This position is part of a multi-skilled team and is required to be flexible and agile. It plays a pivotal role in directly supporting the Leisure Facilities Manager through the provision of professional service and direction in all operational and customer service-related activities within the Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre (GSAC), including the Youth Plaza and Skate Park, along with the Lismore Memorial Baths (LMB). This is a permanent full-time role, working 38 hours per week.

What we trust you to deliver:

• Coordinate and deliver excellent customer service, including training and support of new staff.
• Manage daily operations, overseeing staff, and handling resource allocation and scheduling.  
• Support in setting up facilities for scheduled programs, events and activities. 
• Promote and be an advocate of centre space hire/usage in the facility, looking for opportunities to maximising use and revenue. 

What you'll need to be successful:

• Thorough working knowledge and experience in customer service/sales and operational facility experience or Certificate IV in aquatic, recreation and/or business management or similar
• Be self-motivated, proactive, observant and aware.
• Have the ability to prioritise and schedule work and meet deadlines.
• Have a genuine customer service focus.
