About this Position:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator Design Services to join our Shared Services team. This role is instrumental is supporting the organisation by ensuring the efficient delivery of survey, design, and pre-construction services.The Coordinator Design Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Survey and Design Team within the Chief Operating Office, providing leadership and ensuring the team meets its objectives effectively. This position is based onsite at our Corporate Centre in Goonellabah.

What we trust you to deliver:

Plan, lead, supervise and train staff to provide survey, design and pre-construction services to the whole of Council
-
Arrange to undertake survey and investigation, detailed design, cost estimation and conduct pre-construction activities for capital works projects as required to coordinate with internal clients

Project manage pre-construction activities including facilitating geometric design, structural design and pavement design, preliminary estimates, identifying service relocations, review of environmental factors, advice to residents and setting appropriate specifications

Undertake sustainable work practices that align with Council's commitment to the principles of sustainability.
- Attend workshops and public consultation meetings as required
What you will need to be successful:

Degree qualifications in engineering or equivalent

Extensive experience in survey and design and leading a team

WorkCover Construction Induction Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Customer Driven Service Delivery - Demonstrated experience in the delivery of effective high-level customer service and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and customers (Internal and external)
- Strong time management and organisational skills - Proactively consult with clients to establish their needs and deadlines, ensuring these are met through effective planning and coordination within the team

Full Time Contract: 70 hours a fortnight
