About this Position:

The Lismore City Council is seeking a Development Assessment Officer to form part of the Statutory Planning team. The Development Assessment Officer is responsible for the planning, maintenance and delivery of a wide range of Council processes and support services. This includes principally undertaking the development assessment of Development Applications and planning proposals across a broad range of development types, particularly those that involve general and more complex planning residential, commercial and industrial proposals. 

You'll be working in a full time 35 hour/week role, with workplace flexibility and options around a 9 day fortnight, that will primarily be based at our Corporate Centre in Goonellabah.

  • Utilise existing skills and a strong willingness to analyse problems and evaluate alternatives with a focus on collaborative problem solving
  • Ensure that all corporate records are fully and accurately captured and maintained, to comply with legislative requirements and business needs
  •  Have a constructive approach to problem solving and taking ownership of assessment issues requiring resolution

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Relevant bachelor's Degree in Planning, Diploma of Planning or similar
  • Eligibility for Corporate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia
  • Workcover Construction Induction Certificate
