About this Position:

The Floating Plant Operator plays a key role in supporting the Waste team in ensuring the efficient and effective use of materials and resources under their control.

What we trust you to deliver:

  • Operation and maintenance of plant associated with waste including but not limited to waste excavator, loader, collection trucks, skid steers, forklift and bomag.
  • Effectively manage the expectations of customers and deliver professional and courteous customer service
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and productivity
  • Manage stockpiles, load trucks, and undertake other site maintenance activities as directed
  • Undertake the completion of daily tasks
  • Safely operate vehicles in extreme traffic conditions

What you will need to be successful:

  • Excavator Certificate of Competency
  • Front End Loader Certificate of Competency
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • A team player who communicates with respect 
  • Sound level of written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • HR Licence (desirable)

Full Time: 76 hours a fortnight 

Salary: From $1,118.70 (Grade 6 Entry) per week + superannuation

Conditions of Employment: Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.

Immunisation Program

Council has an immunisation program to provide employees with vaccinations against known health risks associated with their respective duties and to identify any exposure to products that may affect an employee’s health, fitness and wellbeing. This position has been identified as a risk to the employee and as such the successful applicant/s will be required to participate in the immunisation program and it is the applicant’s responsibility to have undertaken relevant immunisation/s prior to commencement with Council.
