Council's Lismore Employment Acceleration Pathways (LEAP) program is dedicated to creating local employment opportunities within our community for those looking to start or change careers.

Through the program you will work towards gaining a nationally recognised qualification, with a combination of on-the-job experiences and mentoring in addition to classroom and online learning. 

You will spend 3/4 years (dependant upon the apprenticeship) working full time within the Roads team and learning a traditional trade and graduate as a qualified tradesperson. An apprenticeship opens the door to gaining essential skills, experience and training for trades. 

What you'll need to be successful:

• Be eager to learn and demonstrate your enthusiasm for the role. 
• Be curious, ask questions, and be open to gaining new knowledge and skills. 
• Be able to express your ideas clearly and listen actively to others. 
• Be committed to learning on the job and in the classroom 
• Work well within a team
