About this Position:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer (Water and Wastewater) to join our Shared Services team. This is an integral position within the organisation and plays a key role in supporting the Coordinator Design Services in ensuring the efficient operation of all design functions within Council.

What we trust you to deliver:

• Investigate and design civil infrastructure projects in line with Council's Delivery Program and Operational Plan
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates for design works
• Provide high quality construction and design drawings in line with best practice principles, to meet Council's needs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Apply expert knowledge of relevant water, wastewater and stormwater design codes and standards, including WSAA codes, Australian standards, local government guidelines and other applicable legislation, to develop compliant and efficient infrastructure designs 
• Assist the Water and Wastewater team in reviewing external designs for accuracy, constructability, and adherence to Council's design standards

What you will need to be successful:

• Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent
• Extensive experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater network design as well as civil infrastructure
• Active Engineers Australia membership or eligibility to obtain membership
• Current Class C Drivers Licence
• WorkCover Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) or willingness to obtain
• Proficiency in design and drafting software

Full Time: 70 hours per fortnight

Salary: From $1,880.90 (Grade 17 Entry) per week + superannuation
