About this Position:

Join us in delivering exceptional service at the Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre (GSAC). We provide excellent service to our patrons and take pride in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and dedicated Gym Services Officer, with a genuine passion for fitness and supporting others on their fitness journey to join our team at Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre (GSAC) and Switch 24/7 Gym.

This is a permanent part-time position of 20 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as opportunities arise. The regular working hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday afternoons/evenings, with some flexibility available.

In this key role, you will support the Gym and Fitness Coordinator in overseeing all aspects of gym operations and services within Switch 24/7 Gym. This includes assisting members throughout their fitness journey, delivering exceptional and motivational customer service, contributing to marketing and promotional initiatives, and fostering strong relationships within the broader community.

What we trust you to deliver:

  • Oversee gym services including health consultations, gym programs, group fitness classes, promotions and challenges.
  • Conduct fitness assessments, develop tailored programs, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with marketing and sales of gym programs, organise promotions, launches and community events to attract and retain members.
  • Work closely with the Gym and Fitness Coordinator and team to achieve goals and provide a supportive environment for staff and members.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • Certificate lll and Certificate lV in Fitness or equivalent Sports and Exercise Science Bachelor Degree.
  • First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003) with current CPR.
  • NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Experience as a personal trainer and/or group fitness instructor would be highly desirable.

Conditions of Employment: Conditions of employment are in the Lismore City Council Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre and Lismore Memorial Baths Enterprise Agreement 2015 (Agreement), and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.
