About this Position:

This is a permanent role forming part of the Quarry Operations team. You will be working to support construction materials testing services and associated administration for quarry products, Lismore City Council roads, and pavement investigations. This position is primarily based at Northern Rivers Quarry in Blakebrook.

What we trust you to deliver 

  • Be responsible for the professional and technical assistance of all Lismore City Council Laboratory operations
  • Perform day-to-day operational requirements of the Materials Testing Laboratory
  • Undertake laboratory and field testing and sampling in accordance with relevant standards and regulatory requirements 
  • Assist laboratory clients through the provision of technical advice
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment towards Workplace Health & Safety systems

What you'll need to be successful

  • Certificate III in Construction Material Testing (or completing qualification in 2023)
  • Previous experience in NATA-endorsed test reports
  • Able to undertake sustainable work practices that align with Council's commitment to the principles of sustainability
  • Be self-motivated, proactive and observant
  • You are a team player who embodies Council's values

Full Time: 70 hours a fortnight

Salary range:  Starting at $67,938
