About the position: 

This role provides leadership to capitalise information technology teams, drives a positive culture of achievement, and has a strong focus on delivery and customer support. An important aspect of the role is staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends, and identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation across the technology lifecycle.

As the Manager of Technology and Innovation, you will play a crucial role in driving Lismore City Council forward through cutting-edge technology solutions. Collaborate with like-minded leaders to strengthen corporate support services and lead your team of talented IT professionals dedicated to creating a supportive and collaborative work environment.

What we trust you to deliver:

  • Lead change and improvements to organisational performance, driving, collaborating and achieving Council's strategic priorities, with a particular focus on continuing to lead the organisational uplift of technology, protecting, and ensuring data security and maximising operational effectiveness and efficiency, which are critical to assist Lismore City Council operations.
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing and engaged Technology and Innovation Team, promoting a customer-focused, values-based culture, where workers are engaged and empowered to be high-performing.
  • Develop and implement the ICT strategic direction, leveraging technology to drive innovation and advance the Council's IT and organisational agenda.
  • Lead, coach and inspire the team to implement and support the organisation's technology solutions. You will ensure that the organisation's technology platforms, systems, data, software, and equipment are aligned with Council's Enterprise Architecture.  

What you will need to be successful: 

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science/Information Technology
  • Demonstrated management experience leading ICT operations, digital transformation, or innovation programs in a complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of Government frameworks, cybersecurity requirements, and relevant legislation.
  • Proven leadership capability, including team development, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
  • Experience with cloud migration, enterprise architecture, or data analytics platforms
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.

Desirable

  • Certifications in project management, cyber security, or IT service management (e.g., PRINCE2, ITIL, CISSP)

Full Time Contract: 70 hours a fortnight
