About this Position:

 

We have an exciting opportunity for Construction Control Surveyor to join our Roads and Infrastructure team. The primary function of this role is to deliver specialist survey services and technical guidance to support Council’s infrastructure planning, design and construction activities. The role contributes to survey operations, spatial investigations, data management and minor project delivery. It operates as part of a flexible, multi‑skilled team and may provide support across the organisation as needed.

What we trust you to deliver:

  • Deliver a range of professional survey services to support Council infrastructure projects, from design through to construction and completion.
  • Oversee the accuracy and upkeep of survey control information, working with relevant state agencies to meet required standards.
  • Engage and manage external surveying providers to ensure work is delivered in line with project requirements, scope and timeframes.
  • Provide practical, timely advice and solutions to construction‑related issues encountered on site by internal teams and contractors.
  • Act as a technical subject‑matter expert on surveying, spatial and property‑related matters for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertake field surveys and investigations to support design outcomes, including surface detail and service location considerations.
  • Prepare high‑quality survey plans, drawings and documentation that meet drafting standards and client needs.
  • Plan, prioritise and monitor work programs to achieve agreed performance targets, while leading continuous improvement in work practices, safety and quality.
  • Maintain effective use of Council systems, technology, data, equipment and resources, ensuring accurate records, secure assets and compliance with organisational requirements.

 

What you will need to be successful:

 

  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • A current Class C drivers’ licence
  • Tertiary qualifications in surveying recognised by the Institute of Surveyors NSW or relevant extensive experience.
  • Relevant experience in developing and managing projects of civil works using project management principles and tools.

Employment conditions: Attractive wages and conditions, including a 70-hour fortnight with an RDO, plus on-call and overtime opportunities.

 

Salary: Starts at $93,918.
