The Opportunity:We’re seeking an experienced Procurement & Contracts Manager to lead our procurement function and ensure best-practice governance, value for money, and strong supplier partnerships across Council. This is a key leadership role where you’ll influence how Council plans, sources, and manages contracts—supporting everything from infrastructure delivery to everyday community services.
Responsibilities include:

Lead Council’s procurement and contract management framework in line with legislation and policy

Provide strategic advice to leaders on procurement planning, sourcing, and risk

Oversee end-to-end tendering processes, ensuring compliance and probity

Manage and mentor a small team, building capability across the organisation

Strengthen supplier relationships and contract performance outcomes and

Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and value-for-money outcomes.
What you’ll bring:
-
Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, commerce, or related discipline
-
Proven experience and understanding of local government procurement related legislation and guidelines
-
Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, governance, and probity principles
-
Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to influence and partner with stakeholders
-
Demonstrated organisational change and experience in leading cultural shift with regards to financial discipline
-
Experience managing complex tenders, contracts, and supplier performance
-
Well-developed communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Full Time: 35 hours a week/70 hours fortnight

Salary: A competitive salary will be offered to the successful applicant commensurate with their relevant skills and experience.
