About this Position:

The Field Supervisor leads teams working across urban drainage, water and wastewater services, operating independently while providing support to the Coordinator as required. This role is essential to the operation and maintenance of infrastructure that connects and supports local communities. As part of a multi‑skilled team, the position requires flexibility and agility, including occasional labouring tasks and providing assistance across different sections of the organisation.

  • Strong leadership and coordination of multiple teams and contractors to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality urban drainage, water and wastewater services, while supporting a positive, accountable and collaborative team culture.
  • Effective planning and resource management, ensuring people, plant, materials and budgets are used efficiently to meet operational priorities, timelines and financial obligations.
  • A proactive safety-first approach, consistently applying WHS requirements, managing high-risk work environments, meeting HVNL obligations, and leading by example to protect people, assets and the community.
  • High standards of quality, compliance and environmental stewardship, ensuring all works meet regulatory, environmental and Council requirements, supported by accurate record keeping and use of Council systems.
  • Continuous improvement and responsiveness, contributing to better ways of working, clear communication with stakeholders, and active support during reactive works or emergency response when required.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Cert IV Leadership and Management or relevant qualification in similar field and/or relevant experience.
  • Cert IV in Civil Construction or relevant qualification in similar field and/or relevant experience.
  • Current Class Medium Rigid (MR) Licence.
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Participate in immunisation program for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B viruses (have or willing to obtain).
  • Work Safely at Heights – RIIWHS204E or similar (have or willing to obtain).
  • Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical  worker certificate (have or willing to obtain).
  • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces – RIIWH202E or similar (have or willing to obtain).
  • Operate High Pressure Water Jetting System – MSMWJ301 or similar (have or willing to obtain).
  • Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan (PWZTMP) - RIICWD503E or similar (have or willing to obtain).
  • Dogman (DG) Ticket (have or willing to obtain).

Full Time Contract: 76 hours per fortnight.

Salary: From $1,564.50-$1,799.18 (Grade 13) per week + superannuation.
