About this Position:
Reporting to the Manager Open Spaces Delivery the Field Supervisor Open Spaces is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operational activities of the Council’s parks, reserves, sporting fields, trees and vegetation and public open spaces. This role ensures the effective maintenance, safety, and presentation of these areas in accordance with council policies, environmental standards, and community expectations. The Field Supervisor leads and supports field staff, monitors work quality, implements maintenance programs, and liaises with internal departments and external stakeholders to deliver sustainable, high-quality open space services to the community.

What we trust you to deliver:
- Proven leadership experience supervising teams in parks, reserves, sports fields or open space maintenance.
- Extensive experience working within a Parks and Recreation environment.
- Strong trade knowledge of horticulture, turf management, arboriculture and landscape practices.
- Experience liaising with contractors, stakeholders, and community members.
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of traffic control plans.
- Competence in operating and maintaining landscaping equipment and machinery
What you will need to be successful:
- Relevant Trade Qualification (Certificate III) or similar (Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, Sports Turf management, Arboriculture, Landscape Construction, Project Management)
- WH&S White card.
- ChemCert Certificate.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.

Full Time: 76 hours per fortnight
Salary: Salary from $1,564.50 to $1,799.18 per week + superannuation

Conditions of Employment: Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.

Council has an immunisation program to provide employees with vaccinations against known health risks associated with their respective duties and to identify any exposure to products that may affect an employee’s health, fitness and wellbeing. This position has been identified as a risk to the employee and as such the successful applicant/s will be required to participate in the immunisation program and it is the applicant’s responsibility to have undertaken relevant immunisation/s prior to commencement with Council.
