About this Position:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to join our Roads and Infrastructure team. The primary function of this role is to ensure that a high level of customer service satisfaction is achieved through the provision of engineering support. This role involves supporting engineering staff to develop and deliver projects in accordance with best practice and driving continuous improvement across all aspects of engineering and construction design, planning, quality assurance and execution in a way which provides best value to Council. 

The role will suit a self motivated individual with exceptional time management skills, a willingness to learn new skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain process control.  A high level of competency is required across the core Microsoft software package including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Applicants with exposure to Project, Power Bi, CAD type programs or other engineering, construction or business software will be well regarded.

What we trust you to deliver:

  • Support the Planning, scheduling, and coordination of project and maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, efficient resource use, and adherence to procurement policies.
  • Manage and track project delivery, including stakeholder engagement, subcontractor/consultant oversight, and maintaining clear communication to drive successful outcomes.
  • Monitor budgets, performance, risks, and quality standards, providing cost-effective solutions while ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and project requirements.
  • Support asset management and planning through data collection, analysis, reporting, and maintaining systems to optimise transport asset performance.  

What you will need to be successful: 

  • Cert IV in Project Management, Civil Construction or related field and/or relevant experience
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • A General Construction Induction Card (White Card), or a willingness to obtain one

Employment conditions: Attractive wages and conditions, including a 70-hour 9-day fortnight.
