About this Position:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Systems Officer to join our Roads and Infrastructure team. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, this role is central to the performance and optimisation of our fleet operations. You’ll take ownership of key systems including Ausfleet, IVMS, and Plant Assessor, ensuring our fleet maintenance, compliance, and safety systems are accurate, proactive, and continuously improving. You'll also play a critical role in keeping our fleet safe, compliant, and operating at its best with preventative maintenance scheduling, telematics analysis and safety defect management.

What we trust you to deliver:

  • Support fleet maintenance planning and scheduling for mobile and fixed plant, including preventative maintenance and RMS/CED compliance.
  • Maintain and administer Council’s fleet systems (including Ausfleet, IVMS and Plant Assessor) to support maintenance planning, compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor service intervals, inspections, registrations, certifications, and OEM and regulatory requirements, coordinating maintenance activities to minimise downtime.  
  • Manage telematics and GPS systems, including user access, monitoring vehicle performance and utilisation, vendor liaison, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and complete fleet asset records, ensuring consistent data standards, audits, lifecycle information, and registration and insurance documentation.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports and dashboards for the Fleet Manager, providing insights on utilisation, compliance, performance, risk, and costs.
  • Support fleet procurement and disposal activities in line with organisational policies, probity requirements, and whole‑of‑life cost planning.
  • Provide system support, training, and guidance to internal stakeholders, identify opportunities for improvement, escalate issues appropriately, and contribute to system, process, and policy enhancements.

 

What you will need to be successful:

  • A relevant Trade Certificate, Certificate IV in Business Administration or Diploma qualification in an IT discipline, Business or similar.
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Be accepting of new ideas and embrace change.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a drive for improvement and learning.

Employment conditions: Attractive wages and conditions, including a 70-hour fortnight across a 9-day fortnight, plus on-call and overtime opportunities.

Salary: Starts at $70,449 per annum. However, this salary is subject to an award increase effective from the first full pay period after 1 July 2026.
