About this Position:
The Manager Commercial and Property Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of Council’s commercial and property portfolio. Reporting to the Director Corporate Sustainability, this role drives commercial insight, portfolio optimisation and revenue‑generating initiatives that support Council’s long‑term financial sustainability and community outcomes.
You will lead Council’s approach to property strategy, commercial development and business optimisation, including leases, acquisitions and disposals, commercial partnerships, and investment propositions. A key focus is applying a strong commercial lens to Council activities - identifying opportunities to improve returns, enhance asset utilisation, and deliver value‑for‑community outcomes while ensuring compliance with legislative, governance, and ethical requirements.
This role leads a specialist team and works closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Councillors, internal service areas and external stakeholders. Success requires sophisticated negotiation skills, sound financial and market judgement, and the ability to balance complex, and sometimes competing, commercial, regulatory and community priorities.

What you will need to be successful:

Tertiary qualifications in Business/Commercial/Property.

Extensive leadership experience in commercial and property management.

Strong financial, analytical and governance capability.

Proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Full Time: 35-hour week.
