About this Position:

The Technology Operations Lead is a key member of the IT Leadership Team, responsible for ensuring the effective operation, performance and continuous improvement of Council’s technology environment. Reporting to the Manager Technology and Innovation, this role oversees technology infrastructure operations, coordinates managed service partners, and leads the Technology Change Process. The position plays a critical role in responding to operational IT matters, allocating resources, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver major technology and infrastructure upgrades that support organisational goals.

This is a dynamic leadership opportunity for a proactive and adaptable technology professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Success in the role requires strong communication, stakeholder management, prioritisation and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to lead across multiple areas of responsibility. As part of a collaborative, multi-skilled team, the Technology Operations Lead will demonstrate flexibility and agility, providing support across the organisation and contributing to strategic and operational initiatives as business needs evolve.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related field
  • Proven experience leading IT operations and support teams within a complex technology environment.
  • Strong leadership, project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Sound knowledge of technology infrastructure, desktop deployment tools and emerging technologies, combined with a commitment to delivering high-quality customer-focused services.

Full Time: 70 hours a fortnight

Salary: A salary range from $107,605.00 to $123,746.00 per annum + 12% Superannuation
